<p>William, the ESC key is your friend. When the grey screen pops
up on EeePC boot hit the ESC key, you will be greeted by the boot
menu, pick the USB key and away you go.</p>
<p>Confirmed working with:</p>
<p>1. Linux Live USB Creator</p>
<p>2. Ubuntu Desktop 16.04 image written to 4G USB 2.0 drive<br>

<p>3. Booted EeePC 900 PC 900 with Celeron M and 1G of RAM, hit the
ESC key when the grey screen appeared, selected the USB key. BOOM
try before I buy.</p>
<p>4. Desktop booted fine.<br>

<p>With regards to Ubuntu 16.04 and Dvorak... I guess there are
still some of those humans around. YES... pick your poison.
There is a cool little icon on the upper task bar icon with the
[En] to set this as a shortcut.<br>

<p>or... Go to All Settings, Text Entry, Add and entry by clicking
on the + sign, Search for Dvorak, select an input source your
choice!!!! English (classic Dvorak), English (Dvorak), English
(Dvorak alternative international no dead keys), English (Dvorak,
international with dead keys, English (left handed Dvorak, English
(Programmer Dvorak, English (right handed Dvorak)... even UK
English versions of Dvorak.</p>

It takes awhile to startup and gather a head of steam, but
