Hi all,

following up on Eric's PostScript session at the last meeting, I
found a nice example page at
  http://www.seismo.unr.edu/ftp/vis/pswork/exercise-320.html:

I found http://www.seismo.unr.edu/ftp/vis/pswork/fractal.ps there,
which is a short file drawing a fractal using recursion.

The real thing, however, is here:
  http://www.mit.edu/afs/sipb/user/rjbarbal/PostScript/mandelbrot.ps
  http://www.mit.edu/afs/sipb/user/rjbarbal/PostScript/mandelbrot_color.ps

This could be used as a benchmark: how much slower (or faster?) is
your printer compared to your computer using a previewer?

The note (from 1992!) at the beginning of the file says:

% Do NOT send this to a public Athena printer: it will take forever
% to print out and will not be impressive. Instead, view the file
% with your favorite previewer, and make a screen dump with xdpr if
% you like.

Have fun,
  Colin
