It's scary; right now I'm on AIM with three accounts, ICQ with 2, Yahoo IM
with 2, Jabber with one, MSN with one and IRC with one.

Next: set up some buddy pounces so that gaim automatically joins the
appropriate channels.

1) add NickServ to your contact list. I use groups heavily in my contact
lists and NickServ is in the "Weird" group at the end that I always leave
closed.
2) If you haven't already, "/msg NickServ register <password>"
3) Tools/Buddy Pounce/New Pounce -- Account: IRC, Pounce on sign on, Send
Message: "identify <password>", save this pounce after activation.
4) Same as three, except the message is "/join #nblug".

And, as an added bonus, now nobody can steal your nick. This method of
doing things only works on networks with a proper NickServ, though.
Freenode (which is what irc.nblug.org is) has a proper NickServ.
