RedHat 7.3 and a missing X server

The test I was referring to is the one that happens once Xconfigurator has 
all the information it needs, and then it says, "Xconfigurator will now 
start X to test the configuration."

Strangely enough, I tried the startx command, and then it worked fine.  I 
don't know why it worked this time, but I'm just happy that it did.
