linux gateway and router = redundant?

So it would seem that the thing to do is return the router (if
you can). Then go take advantage of this week's deal at CompUSA:
a 5-port SMC switch and 10/100 NIC, both for $20 after rebates.
It's a hell of a lot cheaper. That's what I'd do. Oh, wait... I
just did.
