I've thought about this for a while. Sonic has provided me with some great
customer service. What reasons could they have for only permitting a
single "owner" for an account?
Here are some ideas:
1) When there is a business, or marriage or partnership, or contractor and
contract work, there is risk for dissolving the agreement between the two
partners. In such cases, should the ISP be the one to decide which of the
partners should be the new single owner?
Could forcing a single owner per account be a strategy to avoid litigation
and lawsuits?
2) The amount of work to keep track of multiple owners can create problem
when one owner authorizes somethign and the other owner complains about
not being told. Avoiding complaints is a good thing. If you as an ISP are
put into the middle of disagreement between two partners, at least one
wont like you.
3) Their customer database only permits one "customer" as they use the
customer as the unique ID per account (and multiple customers would cause
problems with this custer=key problem.)
Might be other reasons....
