Since the subject came up, can you guys point me at a HOWTO for this?
I've got a pile of Dell Inspiron 1100's that need to run Linux. I've got
RedHat 9 running on mine OK, but apm is way wrong.

As Rob said, the main issue with getting Linux working perfectly on the
P2120 is the fact that it only supports ACPI and not APM, and the APCI
implimentation in Linux is still immature. I have some tips and links
on
my site (http://www.greenfly.org/fujitsu) for P2120-specific
information,
but it isn't incredibly up-to-date for P2120 since I don't have one
personally to test things with.

I do plan on getting together with Rob though and installing Debian and
updating the site with the P2120-specific information. In the meantime
you
can get tips on the Fujitsu P-series forum, they have a Linux-specific
section. http://www.leog.net/fujp_forum/

If you are interested in throwing Debian on there, we could even have
try
to coordinate a type of mini "installfest" for those two laptops and we
all
could go through the process together. Email me off of this list if you
are interested in doing something like that, or just talk to me about it
at
the next NBLUG meeting.
