An SE/30 is about the earliest hardware to consider trying linux on, and
it will be a difficult installation at best. Getting around the floppy
disk formats is a real pain even on the ones with a 1.44MB floppy - the
Plus, with its 800K floppy, is incredibly incompatible and will never
work.

Basically in addition to your target machine you'll also need another Mac
with a floppy drive and net access to prepare your floppies, and you'll
also need to be a mac power user.

Then you need to deal with the hard disk preparation.

It's all something to stay as far away from as possible.
