Y'know, Apple got a *BIG* leg up from donating (and selling cheaply)
to schools; we'll never know how much influence UNIX got from their
early "free to educational institutions" license, but AFAIK few will
argue that there was no later upside for the *NIX community, and a good
case can be made that it was *THE* determining factor; "Open Source"
has some clear philosophical origins in "academic freedom".

If "we" (as a community, nationwide) could sustain a Win2Linux recyclery
aimed at education and training sites, we could (in time; this is a plan
for the patient!) end up with a MUCH more *NIX-savvy and *NIX-accepting
"General Public".
