[NBLUG/talk] A simple modprobe and sound and knoppix question

I seem to have forgotten how to get a non-detected sound card to 
work.

This old Toshiba laptop seems to take a "modprobe opl3sa2 
mss_io=0x530 mpu_io=0x330 irq=5 dma=1" with no problem, but I don't 
get sound, and there is no /dev/sndstat.

Since this is a Windows machine and I am using knoppix(well, actually 
Damn Small Linux because I only have 80 meg ram), I don't know if 
there is something like "sndconfig" (which it does not have). that 
will help me.

Any hints for the handicapped?
