Really? Haven't you ever seen something online, e.g. in a newsgroup
etc, with an anomalous ":w" (terminating a line, which then goes on
with more text), or ":wq" (often at the end of a file).
I have. Several times. IIRC, I've only let that escape to the wild
once however. But any time the lights flicker and I'm composing at
a keyboard, I reflexively bang out :w
in about 1/2 second... (that's colon double-ewe return).
