[NBLUG/talk] Webcam for Linux

Hello,

I'm getting ready to toodle off to college. :-) My mom wants me to get
a webcam so that she can check up on me, and is up for paying $20-$30.
Any suggestions for models that play well with Linux (or at least
Ubuntu)? A brief Google search suggests that most models can work with
Linux.

Bonus points if there's a way to make it work with Skype, though that
feature doesn't seem to be available under the Linux version of Skype.
